What is Enough…A Lesson from the Student to the Teacher

While this is the time of year where I usually share all the things I  am grateful for, and this year there are many, I am reminded of the ‘The Gift of the Magi‘, the story of what is enough.  As a teacher, I used to read this short little tale to my students at the holiday time because there were many who would return from the holiday break bragging about the Barbie Houses and fancy RC cars, expensive clothes and shoes, while others would listen in envy. Day 6 & 7 Working from home…and reflecting.

Where to even begin? I had a rude awakening on Sunday when I went to Sam’s club to get groceries. I arrived first thing in the morning with my mask and gloves…Sam’s club is dangerous enough for me on an ordinary day with all the peanut product samples they serve, but I wasn’t taking any chances with COVID-19. Pandemic Day 2

I am officially stir crazy. Social distancing is going to be the DEATH of me…but I am doing it for the life of me, and the life of others. I am social by nature, and I need social interaction. Too much time to overthink things is never a good thing for me. In Jackson county, it was just announced that we have our first COVID-19 case….which means, there will be more. Clearly this person has come into contact with others before she knew she was infected. When I was a teacher, I used to do this activity with the kids…
